Quaid-e-Azam Solar power plant is established in Bahawalpur and it is producing 12 PC more power than the energy requirements, which is set by NEPRA. When the first phase of the plant was completed in March 2016, then it started producing 100 MW. The renewal energy policy of Pakistan was formulated by Ministry of Water and Power in 2006 and it will help to meet the energy requirements with the development of the plan. The plan for the renewable energy sources has been made with the scope of the policy, which is added with the technologies of small hydro solar photovoltaic and wind power generation. The government of Punjab has established the plant on 6500 acres of land in Bahawalpur and they are going to establish 1000 MW solar park for generation of electricity and it is helping to overcome the gap between the energy production and demand. This plant will help the government to produce more electricity and will meet the requirement of the country as well as make the country cleaner and greener.
